Consistent with the California vibe and NEMO tradition, the location of NEMO U6 is a bit different from your typical conference facility. Asilomar Conference Center is on Asilomar State Beach in Pacific Grove. Asilomar is a former YWCA “camp”, later redesigned and built in the Arts & Crafts architectural style by acclaimed architect Julia Morgan. The camp, nestled amongst Monterey Pines and cypress on the white sand beaches of Monterey Peninsula, has since been converted into a tranquil ocean front retreat & conference facility. It is a beautiful place, but a couple of things you should know going in:

  • Asilomar lodging rooms DO NOT have telephones, TVs, or internet access
  • Telephones, wireless internet access, and a TV are available in the main lodge building (cell phones still work)
  • We hope to have wireless internet access in the meeting rooms
  • The room rental rates INCLUDE three meals (dinner, breakfast, lunch)
  • Firearms, dogs, and livestock are not allowed
  • You can lower your lodging costs by sharing a room with one or two others
  • If you choose to share a room, you will be able to either choose your roommates or have them chosen for you.
