Convention and Visitors Bureau Directory
NEMO Hub Recommendations
The NEMO Hub has compiled a list of personal favorite eateries in the City of Portland (all within walking distance of the hotel). We are sure there are many more great places to eat, but we just don't know about them. See the links from the Convention and Visitors Bureau Directory, above, for a more diverse listing.
Flatbread Co. - All Natural Pizza The Flatbread Company specializes in all natural pizzas baked in a primitive wood fired earthen oven; and has a large open floor plan for lots of networking both inside and outside. The restaurant is on the water overlooking Casco Bay. |
RíRá Irish Restaurant Pub - Irish Bistro RíRá specializes in old world Irish favorites, American favorites with an Irish twist and of course fresh seafood. The downstairs is a traditional looking Irish pub and upstairs is a fine dining experience. |
Portland Lobster Co. - Seafood Portland Lobster Company is on the water overlooking Casco Bay and claims to have Maine's best chowder, lobster roll and fried clams. We can attest to them also having some of the best lobster bisque around. |
Gritty McDuffs Brew Pub - American, English Pub Gritty McDuffs has fresh brewed ales in an English pub setting. It is located on Fore Street, the heart of the Old Port district and serves traditional pub fare. |
Sebago Brewing Co. - American, Seafood Claiming to be Maine's premier restaurant and brewhouse, Sebago has locally crafted beers, unique sandwiches, salads and burgers. |
The Farmers Table - American Bistro OK, we've never eaten here, but it sounds great and is in a very cool looking building! The restaurant claims fresh, local ingredients, grilled local fish, organic and natural meats. We promise to check it out on our next reconnaissance mission to Portland. |
Duckfat Cafe - European Style Sandwich Shop Duckfat Cafe is an independent, locally-owned Belgian Fry & Panini Shop. Everything is made fresh with local Maine ingredients. Homemade soups, salads, and even homemade sodas! They claim to have nationally acclaimed fries with eight different dipping sauces & hot-pressed sandwiches "panini". |
Fuji - Asian Cuisine Their menu includes more than 30 types of sushi and 40 types of maki rolls, as well as a variety of other Japanese favorites. Diners can choose to sit at intimate booths, in our traditional tatami room, or at our exciting hibachi tables. |
Grace - Fine Dining, American Contemporary We confess, none of us have ever eaten here, but worth a trip for the building alone. This historical building, once a church, is on the National Register of historic places and one of the few surviving examples of early Gothic Revival style in Portland. The exterior brownstone is from Portland, CT, just a few minutes drive from the Network Hub. Another place we promise to check it out on our next reconnaissance mission to Portland. |
Gauchos Steakhouse - Brazilian Steak House A South American escape. Pull up a seat at the Brazilian pampas and dine like the legendary gauchos of the past century, enjoying the delicacy of churrasco-prepared prime meat, skewered and slow-cooked to its mouth watering best. Relaxing music and the wafting aromas complete the convivial atmosphere as our traditionally dressed Gauchos servers roam the dining room. |
