About NEMO U8
NEMO University, or NEMO U, is the national conference of the NEMO Network. Held every 2 years, the focus of the conference is on providing opportunities for NEMO program leaders, partners, funders and friends to network with one another, share successful approaches and learn about new technologies and techniques.
This year NEMO U8 is overlapping with the Great Lakes Sea Grant Network Meeting. Training sessions and some of the social events have been designed to appeal to both groups. We look forward to the symbiotoc fireworks that are created by connecting these two tentacular networks!
Who Should Come?
NEMO U is the place for NEMO educators and potential NEMO educators from across the country to gather, network, share/steal resources and ideas, learn, discuss, and have fun. However, we recognize that NEMO programs are not the only ones working with communities on connecting land use decisions with water quality and natural resource protection. For that reason, anyone interested in working with communities to address natural resources through land use planning and site design is welcome to attend. That includes folks from land grant extension, Sea Grant extension, NOAA NERRS, or other networks. The only requirements are that you come armed with:
- An interest in conducting programs focusing on land use & water quality, and
- An interest in working with communities & more specifically, land use decision makers
- An interest in having fun, learning a lot, and connecting with great people.
