New Hampshire NEMO Impacts

  • After a year of targeted support from the New Hampshire NEMO effort, NROC, the Town of Candia hosted a “Conservation Nuts & Bolts” workshop that was attended by folks from neighboring towns. The workshop led to a public education brochure on the importance of open space conservation, and the town is raising $200,000 for conservation purposes.
  • The New Hampshire NEMO effort, NROC, provided educational and technical support to the Town of Nottingham over a one year period. The town has since collaborated with the neighboring Town of Deerfield and a local land trust to complete a conservation easement on an 89 acre parcel of prime wildlife habitat that the towns share.
  • Following educational support from the New Hampshire NEMO effort, NROC, Strafford developed new maps to be used for conservation planning and identified priority conservation areas in the town. The town then targeted community education and outreach efforts on land conservation to landowners in priority areas.
